WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

By LINDA STAR WOLF

It is an unfortunate truth that we all forget that we will die someday. We fall prey to the illusion that we are here in this life permanently. We believe that physical death is something that happens to others but certainly not to us - or at least not for a very long time. Because of this amnesia we put things off indefinitely.

It often takes a crisis to awaken us to the reality that our time on earth is limited. A severe crisis can awaken us to the need to make the most of our lives, but if we regain our footing and move away from the shock of what has happened, we will go back to sleep fairly quickly - even if not quite as securely.

Denial of death serves as a protective shield, which prevents us from entering fully into life. When we embrace the shadow of death - our mortality - then we become more willing to stop procrastinating and seize the day.

Over the years I have watched people holding back, afraid to be who they really are and to have what they want in their lives. This kind of denial of Self creates a variety of addictions, depression, anxiety and what I refer to as soul loss. Soul loss often leads to serious physical illness and/or psychological disorders. A kind of hopelessness may ensue when one is not living in alignment with one's soul purpose and a general spiritual malaise becomes the result. It is as if the person has eaten the poison apple like Snow White and fallen into a deep sleep where no one can wake them up. If you have unconscious energetic blocks in your auric field and body, which prevent your growth, you cannot expect to avoid grave consequences to the health of your body, mind and spirit.

You came to earth on purpose and that memory is deeply etched in your soul and in your DNA. In the Shamanic Breathwork Process ™ we have, over the years, witnessed thousands of people release the blocks to their true selves and Awaken the Shaman Within. This powerful awakening makes it very difficult to go back to sleep again. This is a good thing, for if we are going to continue as a species on this planet it is necessary for everyone to wake up.

So what are you waiting for in your life? Whose permission do you need to do it differently? Have you told yourself you don't have enough money, time, energy, intelligence, support, etc… to follow your dreams? Have your dreams started to fade away and feel like they are only a fantasy? Have you contracted around your little world protecting yourself with all the reasons as to why you cannot make the changes in your life that you would like to make?

I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have helped others shatter those overwhelming barriers within a just a few moments as they come to the truth of their being. All those so-called logical reasons why they cannot be who they are or do what they truly want, fall away like an old snake skin that has outworn it's purpose.

I am not saying that waiting is not sometimes prudent and necessary. However, much of the waiting I see is about fear and lack of trust in the divine plan for our lives. This fear results in a kind of spiritual laziness, for a life without focus and purpose becomes soulless and unmotivated. When people begin to run their lives on self will and doubt, rather than the principles of higher love and wisdom, they are operating mainly from the wounded ego. The wounded ego is mainly concerned with protecting itself. This is not a bad or evil thing. However, if your life is being governed from your past hurts and disappointments, many of which happened when you were small and dependent upon others, then you are living at a much lower vibration. It comes down to facing yourself in the present moment with total honesty and asking if you are willing to settle for a kind of half-life, while waiting for something to change outside in the world around you. The question is: are you ready to take the right action and become the co- creator that you came into this world to be?

We all had human parents, who greatly influenced our lives one way or another, but we also have divine parents. Our divine origins have plans and dreams for our lives just as much as our human parents. I don't know about you, but I lived the first part of my life in relationship to my parents and other authority figures' ideas of what I ought to be. I either tried to fulfill their wishes or I rebelled against them. Today I am choosing to reach higher and create a life that is truly worth living by turning to my divine lineage and soul's calling. When I am living my life from this place I am happy no matter what happens and I feel that I am in right relationship with all my relations. I feel animated and connected to my higher power and higher self and creative work. I feel passionate and in love.

My prayer is that when death comes knocking on our door that it will find us fully alive! No more waiting.

Carpe Diem! (Seize the Day) - and make it a good one!
